Well it's a 1992 Subaru SVX LS-L AWD with 73,586 miles. This vehicle was
purchased by the first owner in '92 for something in the neighborhood of $29,000. It has every single option that was
available for the '92. Starting with the engine...It's Subaru's most powerful naturally-aspirated engine, and at the
time of conception was the most powerful AWD engine period. 3.3 liter, 230 horsepower, six cylinder, built on Subaru's
legendary horizontally-opposed system that lowers center of gravity and reduces engine wear dramatically which is why Subaru
engines are known to go past 200k miles without complaining. This car happens to be the fastest model and year of the
SVX ever built. The all-wheel drive works like a champ, and should sand, snow, ice be your enemy, you will conquer with
the heavier weight and AWD capabilities of this vehicle. Overall the engine runs amazingly well. It has been babied
its whole life. Fed premium fuel (90-92 octane rating) and synthetic blend oil, changed every 2500 miles. Every
few oil changes the transmission fluid was changed as well to keep the transmission in tip top shape, which it is. Moving
onto the exterior. There are two small door dings measuring an inch in diameter at best on the driver side door
(even when iI park far away from all other cars, somebody has to come next to me). Other than that, there's not one
key scratch, paint chip, rust spot, NOTHING. Up until this winter, this car has never seen a winter and has been garaged
in a heated garage nearly it's whole life. The official color of the car is "dark teal" as stated by Subaru. The
car has 16" factory Subaru SVX wheels that have been paired with a new set of Toyo winter tires that the previous owner liked
because of the great grip they give and their durability, they have about 12,000 miles them. As I said, the body is
in great shape, from the signature SVX grille to the factory spoiler mounted in the rear. All the weather stripping
is perfect, and none of the windows have scratches or cracks. The car also has a sunroof that works like new operated
by controls in an overhead control center with map lights on the interior. Now the part of the car that you'll see the most
of, the interior. The dash which is covered in black leather is in pristine condition as well. For that I use
Mother's leather enhancer as a solution to maintain the black leather in the car. The seats throughout the car are black
leather as well, which are all in amazing condition. The driver's seat has a few small "leather creases" that are no
longer than 1-2" a piece, and aren't cracks, just places where the leather has been shifted frequently. The gray suede
accents are in perfect condition with no alterations on them. It covers the passenger side dash, and a good section
of the interior of the doors. The audio system is great too, especially for the year it was made. It is filled
with a 250 watt 6-speaker audio system, with factory CD player, AM/FM radio, and cassette player. The faceplates
for these have a wood grain cover that slides over them in the dash for security and for looks. All of the controls
in the car are in full working condition with no lights burned out or loose buttons. If you have never been in an SVX,
the cooling and heating controls will surprise you. It's a digitaly climate controlled system with outside temperature
readings and very unique controls. Some other nice amenities inside include heated power mirrors both passenger and
driver, cruise control, a detailed dash warning system that told me about a week ago that my right brake light was out.
Indeed, the right brake light has burned out, so that has been fixed, and I'm impressed with the technology for a '92 this
car contains. Moving on back, the backseat is in perfect condition. The rear seat leather is great, and if needed,
it is possible to fit 4 grown men inside the car. The rear quarters are quite inviting, the rear seats are more comfortable
than many front buckets I've sat in, there are rear storage compartments and armrests, and the back windows roll down as well
with controls in the armrests. Should you need to carry something big or long, the rear seat back folds down providing
access to the trunk. The trunk isn't the tallest trunk i've ever seen, but that's expected with a sportscar, however,
it is quite wide and long which amply makes up for it. Under the trunk is a full-sized spare 16" SVX rim with tire with
necessary equiptment and jumper cables. There have been 3 major repairs on this car. First, at around 51,000 miles,
the rear brakes were showing some wear, so they were replaced. The previous owner was a very cautious owner, and upon
reading more about the SVX realized that rear-wheel bearings and timing belts were prone to having problems. So instead
of waiting for it to go faulty, she replaced them both, at the same time. Both were fine, but she felt more comfortable
fixing them before they became problems. When I heard that, I knew that this was a safe car, and I wouldn't be surprised
when I purchased it. There are 3 current issues. First, the two hydraulic trunk lifts have both failed.
So instead of the trunk "popping" up, it merely unlatches and sits there when the trunk switch is pulled. It hasn't
been an issue, but I would be more than willing to run to the shop and pick up some hydraulic lifts and have them installed.
The other "issue" is in the rear there is a small ash tray located in the back of the center console. Because this car
has never been smoked in and I don't smoke, I haven't had a need to repair this piece. The spring that holds the top
to the ash tray has failed and the top no longer springs down when you release it simply requires being placed back in it's
position. As with the hydraulic lifts, I would be glad to fix this should you be interested in purchasing this vehicle.
Thirdly, as you may know, Subaru SVX's are prone to front brake rotors failing over time. Currently, this vehicles rotors
are beginning to show signs. The reason for the rotors malfunctioning is compounded by a few issues. In the early
years of the SVX, Subaru had never made such a heavy car, and altough they put years upon years of planning into the vehicle
they failed to realize how much stronger of a rotor they would need. That, the strength coupled with the diameter of
the rotor makes for problem down the road as a slide warp will begin on the rotor. My SVX's front rotors have begun
to warp, and altough the vehicle is still driveable, they will need to be fixed at some point. The only two other alterations
are a K&N air filter that I installed to improve air quality entering the engine and increase horsepower which it has
given a 3-5hp gain. I also put in a new $95 Interstate long life batter (their best battery) about 2 months ago because
a passenger in my car once left their map light on and the car had been left for a few days without driving. Other than
that, I can't think of anything I've left out. The VIN is JF1 CX3532NH100211 should you want to look it up. I
am more than willing to drive the vehicle from me to you if you wish (in the lower 48) . Any questions at
